About 60-miles (by way the bird flies) south of Fairfield, in Riverhead, Long Island (NY,) Donald Keegan, who is 36-years-old, described to undercover officers how he was planning to burn down a home in order to kill a group of men who resided inside. One arson attempt was made and police arrested Keegan on 9 September. Keegan was planning to burn down the residence of convicted pedophiles.
Two men, different cities and states, but both men were reacting to the same phenomenon -- pedophilia.
Edington is free on a $1 million bond, but Keegan is being held on a $2 million bond as of press time.
The war is on.
Think & Ask is aware that pedophile message boards have monitored and complained about stories we post on child molestation. Yahoo! Inc., hosts one such pedophile message board. One of the members claimed in a post that he reported Think & Ask to federal authorities for "inciting" readers to kill pedophiles after we called pedophile killer Stephen Marshall a hero in April 2006. [READ] The federal authorities have yet to knock on our door.
We can no more incite a man to kill a pedophile than we can cause a pedophile to molest a child. Check with our lawyers.
While this story makes no assertions to innocence or guilt of either Edington or Keegan -- to the non-pedophile-supportive community we ask you this one question:
This writer has a very strong opinion why Edington and Keegan would act as they did. Call it solidarity. This writer urges them both to come clean. And those reasons will set them free.
Only a survivor knows first hand what it is like to contemplate and plan the murder of his pedophile.
It is instinctive, as a good father, to make sure a pedophile never touches your own child. It is poetic justice to kill your child's pedophile.
If we lived in a society that mandated the death penalty for pedophiles -- these two men would not be the ones facing prison.
For the record: James, 58, had no police record of child molestation.
Edington's daughter described being molested on "starry nights," by James.
For the record: 2-year-old girls (or boys) do not, under any circumstance, have the mental capability to describe molestation unless it is true. Period. Whether or not it was James - that may never be known.
Keegan also has a 2-year-old daughter, but he decided that there was no room in his community for a home of pedophiles. The names and address of those pedophiles have not been provided as of press time, (for their own safety, according to police.)
It is ironic that now these two fathers face an uncertain future whereas more often than not the pedophile is never caught let alone does he face prison.
May both of these men --Edington and Keegan-- be cleared and set free. But realize, upon release: Until we live in a society that sentences pedophiles to death, that in order to kill a pedophile on his own he must too end his own life.
Marshall, who killed himself at age 20 after killing two men registered as sex offenders, probably understood that if he was caught alive, he faced dire consequences -- more so than the men he thought he'd save from molesting your children.
